Joseph Veleeparambil was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He was accepted into the inaugural class of a combined BS/MD program with the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Chicago Medical School. In 1998, he received his degrees in chemical engineering and medicine. All of his training in radiology was completed in Chicago as a resident physician at Cook County Hospital and a fellow in body imaging at Evanston Hospital under Northwestern University. After training, he spent the next 15 years in private practice in the midwest.
Over the past 10 years, he had visited family and friends that had transplanted to Albuquerque. Looking for a better culture, lifestyle, and climate for his family, he made the move to the land of enchantment.
